Amanda says that creating her alter ego Samantha ‘was a way of
dealing with certain trauma in my life’ and she felt she was ‘acting’
when engaging that side of herself. 

‘I felt invincible as Samantha. At the time, I had no
issues with going public despite the shock from friends and family,’ she says. 

‘It was like I couldn’t understand their concerns. I was closed off to it.

I was on some kind of high, which now I understand is mania’.
